Painting Hella Figures
#1
Other than making funny trading cards, I've also had to do my fair share of painting figures.

The first one doesn't really look that great, but the second time around was way better (and she liked it a lot). Strange how the transformation only took a day.

My third one was pretty colorful and actually looked like a self-portrait, unlike that first one that made me look creepy. This one looks creepy on purpose.

This last one was an attempt at a different style and type of subject (after I learned that they didn't all have to be portraits). Here's how that went.

It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would to only get four hours of sleep the night before.

But I don't know. Does anyone want their portrait done? I've run out of creative sources and if it's completely necessary, I might just end up using every body part and hand gesture possible as subjects. Though it might be a bit repetitive.

I love that first one, I think it's weird in all the right ways. The shading of the second face is perf. omg. And I love the cold looking "filter".

Ha! Thanks. I guess the first two do look "cold" though I can assure you no filters were used. (My digital art teacher, in turn, would be pissed if I did)

They're really nice. I am not a big fan of your creepy selfportraits, but they're nicely done all the same. The other two are entirely awesome though!
As for subjects to paint, how about animals? A tiger's eye or a male indian peafowl. They both have amazing colours naturally, so, while they won't appear as abstract (I guess you could say!), I think both would look amazing if you'd work them over with your colourschemes.
