Hume,

what is preventing you from acquiring your license?
are you using your job and free rent to save up for a car?

The fact that you are horned up and lonely, wanting someone in your life...how is this not motivation to get your license, a car and drive your butt to Dallas to go bang your brains out? DFW is awesome! Full of opportunity for anything. There are plenty of hot gingers there, I speak from experience....

^not all the same guy.

DFW stands for Dallas-Fort Worth.
It's a huge metropolis with over 9 million people....all Borg (Borg69 got there first)..j/k

Everyone's a little scared to learn how to drive at first, don't use an excuse of someone else's bad driving as a reason to settle in your small town bubble.

Sack up and get your license, get out there and meet some meat...red meat can be tasty.

^excuses...sack up, face the fears and get passed it so you can start living YOUR life.
My brother-in-law has aspbergers and horrible anxiety and has been in multiple car accidents. He is an awesome dude, has a job, drives, married my sister and is the father of my beautiful 4 year old niece.

I have mild PTSD, was diagnosed with depression, ADHD, have been through a boatload of crap in my life, physical, sexual, emotional abuse that have contributed to me suffering from occasional bouts of anxiety, panic attacks and have been in multiple car accidents, two of them rather severe.

I was lucky, had a therapist who helped me work through much of it, but it can still sometimes still affect me. I was living on my own when I was 17 and got my license out of necessity because of my job. I was doing my job that required me to drive trucks and forklifts without having my license, was scared shitless, but I did it because my job required it...

sometimes in life, if you really want to have a life, you just gotta suck it up, face the fear and move beyond it to find your confidence.

Only say this because you are just using excuses to hide behind your fear and are settling to be comfortable in your small town bubble because of fear. THAT is what is preventing you from having a life and keeping you lonely.

ow can you face your fears O.O you, like my crippled friend, surprise me, I almost break down every time I feel fear.
I don't fear a crash, I am positive I'll be in a few
I don't fear being run off or most accidents, only that I may fall asleep driving (If I can fall asleep bussing tables, I damn sure could driving)
Now, If I had someone, that wasn't my parents, whom I'd throw out of the car, or have take over till we got home (Yeah, I get along with them about that much usually, they'd complain about one thing, and I'd be like, "NOPE, Your gone, I deal with your horrid way of pointing out what i do wrong at home often enough, not while I'm driving")
I need a friend who Is GOOD, or better yet, EXCELENT at driving, and Has a good hold on thier anger to teach me, but not someone who'd baby me, just someone who won't yell at me over ever little thing I do wrong
But I know how to put a car in drive or park at least, and how to keep control of the speed without the auto speed whatchamajigger

OK, now I see...people in your life who have tried to teach you how to drive are mean and impatient about it. Went through the same thing, why my therapist actually helped me out in that regard since my loser, dysfunctional parents were of no help. When I was 15, my dad attempted to teach me how to drive by just throwing me behind the wheel and told me to drive him and his gf to San Diego (2 hours away) and drive across the Coronado bay bridge (scary...even for experienced drivers) We then somehow ended up in Mexico where him and his gf had a huge fight, yelled at me and he left us both stranded there in Mexico for several hours. Learned that trying to have him teach me how to drive was not going to work. So I enrolled in a driver training class, a professional who was willing to take the time and have patience in teaching me how to drive properly.

Can you enroll in a driver training school? Have you contacted the DMV to see if they offer free or low cost classes in prep for the driver's test? You need to learn how to drive living in TX. You can't expect to be carted around by your parents or others forever.
