I haven't written anything down (it would be like wishing my life away), but I think I might "leave my body to science" as they say, and let the medical school take care of final disposal, funerals and the like.

Or woodland burial sounds like a nice option, if only all the current sites for it weren't so far away from London. I'd imagine precious few would turn out for my funeral anyway, and asking them to travel to somewhere none of us has any connections with would be asking a bit much.

And to pick up on an earlier point, we do tend to manage cemeteries and churchyards in this country in part as public open space, or at least in some of the big ones, they deliberately leave some of the full-up sectors to grow wild as wildlife habitat. Mind you, it can cause a bit of a shock when you see (as I have) our biggest local old cemetery advertising a Family Fun Day.
