Your support
#1
Hello all. I am very new to this forum/any LGBT forum. I am trying to reach our community on other platforms than FB, Twitter, Instagram, etc. For the past 15 months I've been in litigations & making steady progress in a big civil rights/discrimination case. Long story short: I was told to "fem up" (hair/makeup/wardrobe/everything ). Surprise: I was a head college softball coach for 3 years w/ this univ. I'm 31, and since I was 5 my life was softball. 3 college degrees & immense blood/sweat/tears later, my career/life is a heart-breaking wash.

Depositions are just around the corner (Oct.) I am here 1st looking for support. 2nd looking for donations to my cause. There you can get the whole story with news articles & a public copy of the demand for jury trial & more. You can also donate money. $5 is the minimum you can donate. Any support & suggestions on other outlets to try would mean more to me than you will ever know. Please be sure to read my bio, as that will really paint the picture for you. Softball was my heart. I sacrificed everything & every1 under the moon to chase my dream. And to have that drastically taken away from you for something as my appearance… Utterly heart-breaking.

I refused to sacrifice my dignity & immediately began the pursuit of 'suit. I was never open about my sexuality while I played/coached softball, but take a look at my pic. Pretty obvious. I was a stellar coach and it’ll take a miracle for me to coach again.

Truly, thank you for taking the time to read this. I'm not trying to beg or come off overly in-your-face with a boo-hoo story; I just have a very weak LGBT support group of friends.

Sincerely,

Jaclyn

Sorry to hear it Jaclyn. Stay strong, you're not alone and there's nothing wrong with you. It's their problem, that they sadly mannaged to make yours. Best of luck!

I have no money... We elves are paid in promises, not dolla's.... (sigh, Christmas season is even worse with Santa and his Slave Shoppes - sad story).

What is supposed to be obvious from the picture, that you're a coach?

IDK - have you tried the ACLU: https://www.aclu.org/

Since I do not know the particulars of your case, I can't say if the pursuit of legal assistance through a pro-bono (free) legal service is something you can get.

I do know that county law libraries often have legal students (pre-bar) volunteers who typically lend legal assistance to those who are pursing cases on their own. It is not a real lawyer doing work for you, its just 'educated advice'.

Also the teachers at Law Schools are sometimes helpful, or can give free advice on how to approach a legal case.

I found this site for Cedar Rapids: http://www.hackcollege.com/school-finder...apids/law/

Google may be more helpful than me: https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=Law...dar+Rapids

Then there are LGBT Rights Advocates: https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=Gay...dar+Rapids

Another option here may be to stop beating your head against this particular wall in this particular location and find a new, more accepting location to practice your career.

I would imagine that the coastal states are a bit more, um, liberal and wouldn't view your picture and see 'lesbian' but would see 'sports authority'.

I shall presume you are a coach at a school... There are other opportunities in coaching outside of the schools. There are even physical therapy type sports programs that target adults with disabilities. Perhaps not the hard hitting, fast paced softball of youth.

I sure wish I could help you out more, but presently if a trip around the world cost ten cents I couldn't get out my front door... I don't even have two pennies to rub against each other and am selling stuff in order to pay bills - minor stuff like my power tools, my books, my well this is too sad to continue listing stuff.
