THE LITTLE FAIRY
thawoods

Once upon a time there lived a fairy in a far away land....

She was busy picking-up daffodils when her mother came, "Contessa, where is your father? I need to travel back to the human world to deliver these teeth back to the wrong children!"

"...wrong children?!..." she wondered. The little fairy replied, "mother, father is busy, maybe I should call little Billy to do the work for you." Contessa dropped her basket of flowers and flew up to the treehouse where they lived. In it, she found her brother fast asleep in a fold of blankets. She reached her hand into what looked liked a switch and pressed it gently with her two fingers. Suddenly a loud sound resonated within the room, like that of a crazy horse. Billy looked disappointed. "What was that for?!," he yelled.

"Mother is calling."
"but I just had the best dream of my life!"
"What-ever loser, listen to her or else...."
Contessa made a body gesture that made little Billy get up to his feet. The two flew down out of the window and swiftly into the daffodil patch where their mother was waiting.
"Now Billy show me what your father taught you."
"All right mummy....."
Billy let out a scroll, bit his thumb until it bled and brushed the blood all over it. It was no ordinary paper. It had ancient markings of what seemed to be made of a secret crystal ground to powder. Along the four corners where situated four gems. Once Billy's blood made contact with it the markings glowed a dreamy light; the scroll levitated; and the area where the blood mark was swirled rapidly, quickly forming into a vortex until it opened a portal. The portal looked like a mirror suspended in air, reflecting what seemed like patches of light across a field under a night sky.
"Good boy. Now, stay here until I get back. Okay honey?"

Dira was a strong woman. She always knew for a fact that being a tooth-fairy wasn't an easy task. Every night she had to call her husband (or son) to do an ancient ritual; a ritual done at the expense of her conscience. Fairies always had to pay the price when traveling between worlds, in this case the blood of a male but since fairies are naturally shy it has to be a kin's blood.
As she flew through the night sky, Dira clutched the basket in her hand. She had to return it to the wrong children. Children who didn't do enough to be good. Always with her in her utility kit was toothpaste, just in case she had to return anything using a little magic with ease. You might wonder how a fairy might go unnoticed by the children they reward money with. Another tool Dira uses was the invisibility spray. It works much like body paint, only that it turns yours body invisible. Her job was done now all she had to do was do an ancient sign and poof, she's back at Elora.
