Beautiful work, CellarDweller... I have the Patek Philippe museum closeby and was really taken by all the crafty workmanship they've displayed there... Some of those treasures are really really old... Swiss and European clockwork...

The bottom one I have built a very similar piece a couple three times. There is actually a few ways to make hidden compartments even with something this simple. Perhaps not an elaborate pop out easel, but there is sufficient 'decoration' here to present a person with places to put hidden buttons and to have hidden compartments.
