Virge, it isn't a matter of being afraid to listen, I just don't go for the feeling I get that "now it is time to listen to our opinionated presenter whose job it is to stir things up." That sort of thing just raises by blood pressure. To put it another way, it would be like me turning on Pat Robertson to get the facts. Some things I just don't like to volunteer for.
I bid NO Trump!

A friend of mine from Australia laughed when I described it and said something about all roads of trash journalism lead to Murdoch but he said he hadn't believed how bad it was until he visited the USA and got to see it. A Canadian told me she can't believe FOX is legal in the US (but see how they won the right to lie below). Gods, where to begin. Once I saw one of the heads talking about Obamacare while black and white footage of marching Nazis were shown as they were saying "socialism has been tried before." When my cousin asked me about it (as his parents were ticked at my putting down their beloved FOX News) one of the things I told him was it should be a drinking game with every time it used a weasel word (like a sarcastic "Anointed One" to refer to Obama) one should take a drink, that is if they don't fear liver failure. He caught O'Reilly the next morning on his parents TV and grabbed some Jack from the cabinet as O'Reilly was using "Anointed One" over and over in putting down Obama and so took shot after shot. After his mom asked him why he was drinking so early in the day he explained (between shots) about the drinking game I'd shared with him. They kicked him out until he could "respect FOX News." Finally, there's this, FOX actually admits they lie in court and say it's their right to do so, including in firing reporters who refuse to lie as ordered...and WIN: http://www.projectcensored.org/11-the-me...gally-lie/ I'll add a few examples...I was going to in this post but my player crashed.

My player keeps crashing so I'll just add this one that gives an example:
It actually gets more absurd than that, but if I show you it will have to be later.

Virge Wrote:Ljay -- I'm not afraid to listen to any of them. I enjoy fact checking them all. There are some stories the conservative radio hosts carry that get no coverage anywhere else in any depth sometimes weeks before the stories get coverage in mainstream. im not sure who is the lesser of purported "evils" among the three "journalism" cable stations of fox, msnbc, or cnn. fox is primarily to the right. msnbc is primarily to the left. while cnn is trying to be the moderate but ultimately fails because it's also to the left. i cant stand bill maher or rush Limbaugh. both their ideals just make me cringe. in fact i would prefer listening to a nail scratching the chalkboard than Limbaugh or maher. and im not even trying to be all political with this but im definitely trying not to be naïve either. and I've deviated enough from the original purpose of this thread on quarantine.

All news is biased now. I guess it always was but now it's become very polarizing. I prefer to watch Fox News because on a whole I'm a bit more conservative, meaning I like a smaller government that intrudes less in my life and in my checkbook. I know though to take everything they saw with a grain of salt and disagree on many of their social commentary and stories.
What I hate most is that most of the media has a left leaning bias that makes it hard for them to cover President Obama. They always put a spin on most stories that paint him in a decent light. They don't go trying to find scandals or cover the scandals that do show up with any gusto. It seems that they are no longer in the business of keeping politicians straight but in pushing their agenda. We need journalists to start being unbiased again, so that politicians learn to fly straight again because many know that they won't be held accountable to the media. Also in the media, they love to blow things out of proportions, like in Ferguson. I feel that they made it a bigger story than it was worthy of. If they hadn't promoted it so much, maybe the violence and riots wouldn't have happened. Journalism use to be based on fact and the truth but now it seems to be based on heresy and false information. The media job is to report the facts and not be judge and jury like they have been. Now I'm not saying the shooting Ferguson was not a tragedy and should not have been reported. All I am talking about is the news coverage of the event.

^ What he said. And then some.
Can't trust any of them. They're either breezing through without even the minimum facts to make a story, or deliberately manipulating the perspective to suit their ideology. It's painful.
