On another website, I was chatting with a new guy who was feeling insecure. "I'm kind of overweight, and not all that attractive. I'm afraid I'm never going to get laid or have a boyfriend, because gay guys are so shallow." I told him to just put himself out there, interact with some people, and see what happened. He finally did, and I asked him how it went. "Oh, fine, I guess. But everybody who's talking to me is fat and ugly. Ugh - no thanks. I want a hot guy."

Apparently, it's "shallowness" in others, but "selectivity" when it comes to ourselves. Smile

Yeah he is and I'm going to give him a gift card for MacDonalds and some B&D porn if he'll give ray a fish nap.

Lex, that goes right back to my comment about the underlying issues about guys who want to wait until they find a relationship to have sex. Here's my reasoning.

The most important relationship a guy has is with HIMSELF not other guys.

If this guy wants a hot guy -- he needs to stop working in finding one and become one.

That's the way it works and there's nothing that can be done about it. Sitting back whining about it has never done a bit of good. Complaints like "EVERYONE is so shallow -- all they do is look at appearances" don't cut it and are always spoken by guys who spend all their time chasing "hot" guys and not try to become one themselves. The funny shit is that it's less work to become "hot" than chase guys who are.

Go figure.

I'd feel better about myself if I was more masculine. I want to be able to like things such as sports, cars, heavy metal, etc. Please help me if you can. I want to be able to find a boyfriend too.

I am a single masculine bi man who prefers to date gay femme men. I don't see anything wrong with your desires at all. Maybe we can be friends at the very least?

Oh man...One of the most shocking moments of my adult life was getting taken in by a guy just like that. I was stunned when I found out he was exactly the man he protested. I spent sooooooooo much time being his cheerleader and introducing him to tons of people so he had a social life and friends to help get him out of his shell...

He did cure me of trying to "fix folks"... LOL...in a big way.

I STILL haven't completely gotten over it..and it has been many years...it was one of the defining moments of my life...

I guess I should be grateful now that I am thinking about it...I wasted alot of time trying to fix people...like broken toys...and I never really accomplished much .....except diverting my attention away from fixing myself:redface: He was solely responsible for turning it all around for me....

You are who you are. And you are perfect the way you are...for someone. We all need to learn to love ourselves before we can expect others to love us.
