Jason, that's a troubling post which I also did not see.

You list a lot of "problems" in your life and it sucks when things like this begin to pile up and consume your inner peace.

But I think your biggest problem isn't any of the things you mentioned, it's your mindset.

The way you THINK about your life situation is making your life situation SEEM hopeless and this can be very destructive.

A computer, car, and dental work can all be fixed or changed.

It may sound like new age crap, but the first thing you need to do is calm your mind. If your mind is spinning in a sea of negativity, the negativity will continue and your fears will become a self fulling prophecy.

I don't want to minimize the gravity of your life situation in any way, but taking small steps in the right direction can build momentum and before you know it your heading in a new direction.

I've had times when I was depressed or had negative feelings of despair and hoplessness...I think most people have at one point or another. Life can be hard or confusing.

Try reading a book that deals with recognizing the destructive nature of your thinking, like A New Earth....maybe look into meditation.

When you calm your mind the path forward becomes easier to see. Life is a gift and it's exciting...excessive thinking clouds this truth.

In no way will a book, or meditation fix your life situation...but it may make you realize how all the things you mentioned are in fact THINGS....and things can change.

I'm in agreement with others here. Your situation is certainly manageable and I agree it sucks but you'll persevere.

My mom has similar problems. She works 2 hours a day, dental problems left unchecked for 20 years, financial problems etc. She often gets overwhelmed and has talked suicide many times. One thing that has always helped her is a bit of perspective. She sees what problems are on her plate as a whole and gets overwhelmed. It then drags her state of mind downward and she sees no way out.

First thing is listing the things that need to happen. They can be very small to very large. If it's something to get done then list it. Then narrow your mindset. Don't worry about the overall problems as something that'll take a year to accomplish isn't worth stressing about today as nothing can be done.

Pick something achievable and feel good about accomplishing it. Could be something as simple as making a phone call or mailing a package or whatever. It's all motion towards the goals. I often break the goals down even smaller. Microgoals within the macrogoals. Being an anxious person I've got a hard time with making telephone calls especially but I assign a day to get that done and then just do it.

It's always been a valuable tool for me and people often compliment how organized and spot on I am. I tend to know when the milk will run out and need more or when ID needs to be renewed or what time contributions to retirement end for 2014 etc etc.

We all have our list of awful things that weigh us down.. But, we need to keep moving ahead.. Set objective, achievable goals and go for it..

Been there and can totally relate... I've been where every little thing that goes wrong FEELS like life is out to get you. I also know that YOU have to dig yourself out of the ruts you're in.

There really aren't any platitudes from us that will help you. You need to start doing things differently if you want changes in your life. Move. Get a new job. Join clubs. Take some classes.

Meet people... REAL LIFE people - not just internet sites. Take some chances outside your comfort zone.

it's difficult being anything other than straight, there's that huge burden that's already there so it only takes a few drops falling to cause an avalanche. I had to train myself to take step back realize the other problems, unlike my sexuality, are fixable before my depression got worse. my computers have screwed up plenty of times, I have to admit that I do know how to fix them but I still had to go a few days before the parts got in, but while waiting I made tons of progress getting stuff done around the house and finishing projects I stopped working on.

the car is hardly used anyway so you can take however long to save money to have that fixed. education is all about how much you are willing to put into it, it's like running a business, the more time put into the better the out come. I don't care if you have to stay behind for tutoring every day to under stand everything it's very possible. I was a c student in high school and my first year of college I had a 1.8 GPA and had relatives tell me to my face that I should give up, it felt so good when I graduated with a bachelors and a 3.4.

finding a good job might be a little tough and you might have to go to a trade school or receive training in what ever it is you want to do, but after that fill out as many applications you can find, a lot of companies are looking for vets to train and hire.

I really hope you're still here, whenever I get depressed I think of all the people I would be hurting if I killed myself, including people on this site, and I think of what I could do different to change my life around, it's never to late to make a change. Bighug

No way you're in this alone, Jason. Folks here are willing to listen and even to encourage. We can't be right there all the time, but believe me, we do know a lot about where you are coming from. Remind yourself, EVERY day, that others out there care but also that YOU are your own best cheerleader. You can move ahead and there are a lot of us that will be glad to hear about you doing it.

If you cannot go to the dentist I would recommend buying a good electric toothbrush like Sonic care doing miracle. I cannot relate with you on this because i've always been able to get to the dentist.

I can also relate with you having shitting thing happen, being exhausted about life. Even so I always smile and always look happy I'm burying deep scars.

They is no recipe. if I had a recipe I would not be where I am today.
However, I will give you some piece of advice working for me.

Even so it's tempting to associate the past to our current unhappiness, the past is the past. You need to break that cycle and look ahead. To look a head I'm rewarding myself sometimes down the road to make me confident in the future, like buying ticket for a show I like in three months, being happy about a movie not yet realize but will be release shortly, or a future album of my favourite band or like briannorth said setting myself achievable goal of find new interests.

To be happy you need to change your mindset to someone thing more positive. By example, your comment being a little upset having only two post. It's something negative. You should of instead turn it around ... writing something like «let's go guy dont be shy to reply this treat, I know you can and I appreciate all comments» My point is all the little negatives things we let enter our brains have a huge affect in the ends. And turning something negative into positive or funny is quite helpful.

Anyway, you have my support here!
