NOTE- this is NOT assuming that Darren Wilson is guilty (frankly, the evidence was not conclusive at all), but rather stating why LGBT people should support the movement in general.
Intersectionality. Discrimination faced by African Americans heavily intersects with discrimination faced by LGBT people and if we do not support the movement to end police brutality, we are implicitly denying that. That would be like if someone who was African American threw gay people under the bus. That would hurt, wouldn't it? Especially because they are a member of an oppressed group just like we are?
Plus, if you think about it, LGBT people are extremely vulnerable to police brutality as there are a lot of people who hate us for who we are.
And just so you know, supporting the movement does not mean you support all factions of it. Frankly, I am opposed to the faction that is shutting down highways as it's against the law to do that for a very good reason.
