So this is impugning "Hopeful Refrain" as an accomplice.
Nice. Perhaps he is the former Steve999 from EC, and perhaps both are the same, or more likely, they are the troll from a forum I was formerly a member of, and working in tandem to play us all. Go figure. And Merry Christmas. CEEZ, I owe you champagne.

Cheers indeed. Brandon was so beautiful at that age. Fantasy material.

Oh cool, so I'm being used??? This is not cool anymore..., really not. Hmm.
I wonder if someone could delete this topic for me please? It's useless now.

^ Don't feel badly.....People with great empathy often get taken in by sociopaths or ...particularly on the internet.
The mistake was the 'Daughter' coming back on the site to lay blame and inform a group of avatars about her 'father's' condition. A few years ago on JUB, a particularly disturbed young man faked his own suicide and then had his mother (who was supposed to be a specialist physician) come back to the board and inform us all of the sad news. To have this event take place at Christmas was a particularly gruesome and deft touch. What could be more satisfying to someone than to think that they have ruined the holiday for possible one or two or a hundred people????? We also lived through the illness and death of Andreus over there...with his brother arriving to let us know of his condition and subsequent death. These Munchausens always make the same mistakes though.....overly elaborate and psychologically implausible scenarios....too many peripheral characters with behavioural inconsistencies...all the telltale clues are there in plain sight. As people pour more and more of their own hearts into the troubles of the afflicted one....the emotional demands become greater and greater....always with the same result...to see other people suffer and to validate themselves by the grief and sympathy that people express for their character's tragic demise. The best advice? Remember that these avatars do, in fact, suffer from mental illness. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%BCncha...y_Internet Reinforce the need for them to receive professional care, either physical or mental. Urge them to seek out a therapist. Provide contact numbers for organizations that can help them. Do not become emotionally invested. Unless you are a health care professional, remind them that you are out of your depth and cannot give them the counselling or advice that they need. Be gentle but firm. Make it clear that you are not an emotionally vulnerable victim. As for the avatar in question.....as well as the other one who got booted off EC with his tales of rape (and who we've seen in two different incarnations here recently) I hope that for his (their) sake(s) that he(they) find some peace and help in the new year. In the meantime:

There's a special level of hell reserved for these types of trolls.

On the brighter side, I think of all the actual troubles we rally round and support here.
Most people are good. That's an easy one. A grinch steals in once in a while, and sometimes a pair. |
