That is actually what I was thinking of and was my point. There really isn't a word that is more inclusive than the word "gay," because "queer" isn't it. Although the words were at one time used more interchangeably, that is not the case anymore. Queer has shifted to become something more specific, something along the lines of radical faeries and androgyny. "Gay" is really such a generic word that you sometimes even see lesbians called "gay women," but have you ever seen homosexual men called "lesbian men?" And "lgbtq..." is really just an unnecessary mouthful. I'm not giving in to the alphabet soup. I'm going to keep using the word "gay" because there really needs to be something that is short and simple to include us all as a collective. Do we really expect a news anchor or people having a conversation to keep saying "LGBTQIABC2SFQ rights movement" when they can just say "gay rights movement?"
