Good New Everyone!
#1
Today my Medicaid Card arrived.

I'm now accepting bets on how soon the Republicans will overturn Affordable Care Act and land me up without insurance again. Rolleyes

I have decided to be put back on anti-seizure medicine, see if I can get that under control this time around. And pain meds and whatever else doctors can throw at me.

Need to get my right knee checked, I recently (just before Christmas) tore something in it - any bets that the tissue thin remnant of meniscus finally ripped? My old bullet wound has been throwing off Charley Horses and that right leg has been turning to wet noodle way too often this winter. And of course pain - that old familiar companion of mine.

The real horror is I'm using the god-damned-cane far more this year than in years prior - well except the year of the knee surgery that THAT doctor messed up.

Tomorrow I will call the local clinic and see if I can get assigned a primary doctor. My list of ailments and complaints is stupidly long... Too many years without medical care has most likely not going to end well. No doubt s/he will refer me to specialists, lets see neurologist, ortho, psychiatrist, psychologists, chronic pain specialist (or palliative care?)

On the bright side I'm of the age for the yearly prostate exam! Finally there is some sexual activity in my near future..... Roflmao

Dammit I knew I should've been a proctologist.

Sounds like a nice 360 from where you were weeks ago! Congratulations on your new path!

Miles you can be my proctologist any time you want to play doctor.

Borg, yeah getting the card is one small step for man.... The giant leap here is not caving in and hiding under the covers when it comes to dealing with the system and working the steps towards getting to all of these specialists, x-rays, MRIs, and other tests.

I'm the type of person where 10 people in the superdome stadium is an unruly mob - riding a bus, or being in a doctor's office, or standing in lines with more than two or three people really work my nerves.

I'm good at hiding my panic usually, but if there is too much 'stuff' too many days close together I can readily shut down for weeks and hide via deep denial.

So its a step, a minor step.

Bowyn, I don't think that Medicaid has anything to do with the Affordable Care Act or vice versa. It is a wonderful thing for those who need it. You are indeed most fortunate.
I bid NO Trump!

get yourself checked out for everything under the sun mate while u can.....and even a few things that you believe may start playing up in the coming years...nothing like getting the jump on a dicky ticker first.

still shocks me that the mighty USA knowingly let people die who cannot afford insurance....thank god for UK's NHS although the Tories are doing a damn good job of destroying it at the moment
