Lunch and dinner. I don't eat breakfast. On occasion, I'll have a donut on the way into work (I walk by a really good donut shop), but generally, I skip it.

The only time I eat more than two meals is when I'm "slow-motion eating". That's my term for when I'm trying to lose weight by eating something (between 50-100 calories) every hour. That keeps my metabolism up and helps me lose weight. But at that point, none of the things I eat have names - it's just "what I'm eating now".

"Supper" is when I'm in the country, or at some sort of church function - neither of which happen much.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Breakfast I tend to eat but as for the rest, I just eat whatever, whenever. A hearty breakfast can keep me going for a long time.

breakFAST
coffee
lunch and coffee
snag and coffee
snag
snag
...

we just call them "what is for food?" or "im going to eat..." rarely anyone uses terms like "lunch" or "dinner" here. snag is used commonly, and lunch in ads, "lunch hour 10-1400" etc... but everybode goes "to eat"...

Breakfast, lunch and supper....definitely a rural Ontario tradition.

As has been mentioned, dinner was only one day a week...Sunday.

Well, as some of you know I have a malabsorbtion disorder and I am currently eating 5-6 meals a day! So....

Breakfast-- I always get up ~6:00am and make breakfast while my husband gets ready for work (and pack him a lunch at this time too!)l I alternate what I make throught the week, on M/W/F I make sausage and biskits with grated potato hash browns. On T&T I fix waffles, bacon and a bowl of berries and cream. . Milk, OJ and 1 pot 'o coffee. No breakfast on S or S.-- Just a pot 'o coffee!

Brunch-- At ~10:30 or 11 am, I have a either another cup of coffee or a cup of tea and a peice of cake or pie (sometimes TWO pieces of cake or pie...or a brownie...lol). I always put a peice of whatever I am going to be having for brunch into the top of my husband's lunch box in the morning when I pack it.

Lunch-- By 1pm I am hungry again, and I usually fix myself an avacado or mandarin salad, or steamed Chineese dumplings with sweet Thai chillie sauce (Don't judge me!). Lunch is the only meal of the day where Carl and I don't eat the same meal; I alternate his lunches btw canaloni with a salad on M/W/F or turkey sandwiches with tomato soup on T/T. Plus a banana, an apple, a single-serve cup of mandarin orange slices, a snack-size bag of peanuts, and a MilkyWay bar...and a can of Coke (I despise soft drinks but he has a sweet tooth 😛Wink. On S&S I don't fix his lunch at all-- every man for himself!

Dinner-- Between 6-6:30 I cook our main meal. The meat dish is most commonly seafood, but I cook lamb, veal or pork a coupe of nights a week, with 2-3 vegetables and bread. Occasionally we will drink a glass of wine with dinner. I shop seasonally for dinner, more than any other meal, but I worked as a chef professionally, and in the hospitality industry generally, for almost 20 years and I have good organizational skills when it comes to planning weekly meals ahead of time. On Sundays I always make canaloni with enough leftovers to put into Carl's lunch during the week.

Supper-- Around 9pm, everything is finally starting to settle down around the house. The dogs are flopped onto the floor, the cats are lined up in front of the fire place, and we are picking a movie to watch before bed. What better time for comfort food, or as I refer to it-- Supper.
It is definitely a smaller meal than Dinner, but it is generally "heavier" foods. Homemade pizza, chilli, potato and cheese soup, stuffed bread, hot wings, ect.. In the cold months we might have hot buttered rum or hot chocolate with coco liquor.

In addition to all of this, I also drink 2-3 Ensure every day. Of course, my husband doesn't drink any of these.

In bed by 11 pm and then it all starts over the next morning!

Wow, Beaux, that's a lot of food! I could never do that.

It isn't easy! I genuinely get sick of eating, but I am no longer gaining weight AT ALL, so I am desperately trying not to lose anymore !

As a kid I used to spend part of each summer in Louisiana at my grandmother's house. We'd have breakfast in the morning, dinner around 2 pm, and a light supper in the evening.

There was separate china and silverware for dinner and supper. There was no air conditioning, just big loud fans to circulate the air inside, and a porch swing on the screened in front porch. We survived. It was a world away from my life now.
