Lurid Digs
#1
Does anyone follow Lurid Digs, the website that critiques the design choices of Grindr guys? It is massively funny. The best thing on the internet right now. The link here is a story about the site which has a link to the actual, very NSFW site because I had to provide a buffer zone for those of you who might be at work or church, with your parents, or in the arms of your lover who thought going steady meant you were never ever going to look at a dick pic again.

Strange - this basic idea was part of my stand-up comedy set for a while. I talked about watching amateur porn, and sometimes how the hotness of the guys was exactly offset by the horribleness of the decor (and their lack of tidying up). The bit ended with me discussing one clip I saw where the guy had both a Star Wars Stormtrooper helmet AND a bottle of maple syrup on the night stand....and how I kept looking between both the guy-on-guy sex, and those two items...and wondering when they'd come into play.

Somebody told him that licking maple syrup off a helmet was hot and he wanted to try it?

I was hoping to see one guy put on the helmet, then see him pour syrup over the other guy's ass while yelling "Open the blast doors ! Open the blast doors!"

Watch out though! That effing page is totally addictive. I went through 50 pages today, but mostly looking at the pictures.

Huge Lurid Digs fan here.

Everything I wanted in interior design and homemaking info.

The level of Hell that Martha Stewart fears the most.

To tie in with the thread for eating on couches.....http://www.luriddigs.com/wp-content/uplo...s-sofa.jpg

Quote:For now, ignore the upholstery on that sofa, which isn’t quite period-appropriate, but it’s tasteful and subdued and hoity-toity enough for romantic homosexualists to see it and think, “Oooh, a Victorian lady’s parlor! We’ll have our crumpets in here, Carson.”

Ignore the wallpaper, which works the same way. I swear, some people think all anyone had in their houses before World War II were chamber pots and monochromatic floral prints.

Ignore the late-90s stereo system, bought for a song from an event production company that went out of business during the first internet bubble, when San Francisco start-ups no longer had the moolah for elaborate, butt-shaking IPO parties.

Ignore the moulding, which was either stolen from a Norwegian sauna, then buffed to remove decades of sweaty ass stains, or salvaged from a fantasy rumpus room constructed in 1973 at the Schenectady Architectural Show and Bake-Off (sponsored by Carvel).

And I’m not even going to broach the topic of that rug, which may or may not be 100% genuine polyester and may or may not have been bought at Big Lots for $14.99.

No, the biggest problem to me is that massive, lumpy throw pillow, which wants to appear vintage, but so clearly isn’t. It’s the size of those lilypads that carry away deposed baby kings in myths from the Subcontinent. It’s a Civil War whore whose corset is in the shop. It’s the kind of thing that Pasty Stone’s mother would’ve brought to an ashram. Like other things in this room, it needs to be reined in and bound up before it’ll satisfy anyone.

I work for an architect and an interior designer. So when Danny (the guy I've posted about that I'm interested in), sent me a link to the website while I was at work, he made it sound like some kind of professional design site. Yeah...did I mention that I share an office with my boss?

This is Danny at his best, trying to horrify me into admitting I'm totally straight and he's just a diversion. Not Working. And my boss shocked the shit out of me by commenting that it's a "humorous" website. Does everyone know about this stuff but me?
