This makes extremely harrowing reading but it is about the attitude of the rape of females in India.

I have some married friends in India. They tell me that it is scary.
I worked with them at my old job (via Skype and phones), and one of my friend's wife was being stalked by someone. He missed a few days in the office to work from home to make sure she was protected. Nothing happened, thank goodness, but they have to be worried all the time.

Sorry about that guys. Yes, there are a large number of people (not only men but women too) who have outrageous views when it comes to rape, freedom for girls etc. The same is true about homosexuality as well, which is a crime in India. Even educated people often hold the victim responsible. They would say something like..
The victim should have dressed decently - where decency varies in definition
The victim should not have gone outside in the evening
The victim should not have provoked the rapist by opposing his abusive behavior
So on and so forth... No law would address this mindset. ironically, this is the land of Kamasutra where personal freedom and sexual freedom was much more inclusive thousands of years ago.

Thank you Deepu69 for a point of view from the country itself. Is there not some campaign to change the law?
