I am sorry you have completely lost me there. Please explain.

League of Nations were the for runner of the United Nations no and League of Nations were also called the Allies?

This article is about the independent states that comprised the Allies. For information about other countries that took part in World War II, see Participants in World War II.

The Allies of World War II were the countries officially opposed to the Axis powers during the Second World War. Within the ranks of the Allied powers, the British Empire, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, and the United States of America were known as "The Big Three". U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt referred to the Big Three and China as the "Four Policemen". Poland and France, before its defeat in 1940 and after Operation Torch in 1942, were considered major allies.[1][2]
During December 1941, Roosevelt devised the name "United Nations" for the Allies, and the Declaration by United Nations, on 1 January 1942, was the basis of the modern UN.[3] At the Potsdam Conference of July-August 1945, Roosevelt's successor, Harry S. Truman, proposed that the foreign ministers of China, France, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom and the United States "should draft the peace treaties and boundary settlements of Europe," which led to the creation of the Council of Foreign Ministers.[4]

Thanks for your reply.

The League of Nations was a failure. Its main aim was to prevent another World War. Its response to the Italian invasion of Abyssinia was ineffectual. The Soviet union was only a member form 1934 to 1939 when it was expelled. The United States was never a member. The United Nations was a new organisation, albeit, created with roughly the same intentions as the League of Nations.

I do not see how either organisation could be said to have won World War 2. The war was, as you say, won by a number of Allies. However Roosevelt, Stalin and Churchill, weren't referred to as the big three for nothing.

I still don't understand your 'three years early' comment.

I think the meaning of life is to live your life to the fullest. Do not spend too much time looking for answers to questions that are impossible.

This is going to sound cliché. Life is what you make it. There is no true meaning of life. The meaning of life has infinite meanings. Everyone has their own personal meaning. I'll get into what I think the meaning of life is later.

Well this thread was a good year and a half old at least, but I might as well chime in while I can with a personal perspective:

The meaning of life is a beer in one hand, a blunt in the other, a Floyd record on the turntable, and a friend or two sitting next to you chatting into the wee hours. =)
