Umm…. when you ask someone a question, don' t pose it as a speculated answer. IOW, "are you mad at me?" is NOT what you really wanted to know. That was a speculated answer/assumption on your part. As [MENTION=21778]Lexington[/MENTION] suggested, say what is real for you, your truth, "I'm enjoying our time together but don't understand what's going on with you… Can you help me out with that?" … or something along those lines.
