After how long did you move in with your boyfriend?
#11
He was 20...I was 27....almost 28 at the time....

I "met him" in a very unusual way and we talked for quite awhile before I ever met him in person.

I was determined to stay single and I had envisioned a great life....but I fell in love with him completely and I didn't even protest too much as I submitted to it.

From the day we met we never spent a day apart and stayed at each other's houses or a hotel as we went away alot....

29 years later...we have still never spent a day apart....even when I was in the hospital..he was there...

We moved in together I think maybe six months into it..we both got a place together and we both made the decision. We never had to split anything...my money became his...and vice versa...it was an easy and natural transition....

Ok...so in my lifetime...I've had four long term relationships...the first one was an older man who was 17 years older than myself. He was a priest who played a major part in "outing" me to my mom. I was living at home at the time and this caused a lot of tension and pressure on me due to the fact that my family are and still is very homophobic. We had only been together for a few months and so instead of moving right in with him...I moved in with a mutual friend who was around my age and I stayed with him for about six months. After that..the priest and I moved in to our own place. The only other boyfriend that I lived with was my late partner and that occurred due to unfortunate situations and also we had been best friends for 12 years prior to becoming a couple and this was something that was destiny. With all that being said...I would say probably after a year of commitment should you consider moving in with someone...just my opinion...

JohnSomebody ... Thank you for mentioning this - "...we had been best friends for 12 years prior to becoming a couple...".

I've had a number of people comment that my situation is "weird" because my BF and I were best friends for 3 years before recently becoming a couple. We've even had to endure a fair number of bad jokes about how we've obviously been "carrying on" all along. Nice to know that we aren't all that unique...

We met in July '05, him 25, me 22 - both living in shared houses. We only saw each other at weekends at first as he worked away through the week.

He came to stay with me the following March because his housemate started becoming violent with people and tried to hurt the cat he was looking after. So we got our own 'proper' place together that May.

Hello Pyromancer:

I'm sorry that happened to and your partner...in my situation...those who were aware of our history were happy we've finally together. I tend to believe that as long as you and your partner are happy with your relationship then that's all that matters...

2 weeks ago I posted that my boyfriend would be moving in in July, at which point we would have been together 6 months.

But life happens....Sunday I'll have been with my boyfriend for 4 months, and he's really been living with me now for over a month.

He still has an apartment, which he's moving out of in June, but it's more like a storage unit at this point. Maybe once or twice a week he'll stop there to get his mail or belongings.

I'm in the process of moving to another apartment in my building right now...literally, I'm on a break!

So for me, my bf basically moved in after 3 months.

Just another happy Grindr couple! lol.
