Trip to the ER...
#11
East, thanks for that practical tip! Don't know if I can chug olive oil and lemon juice (just the thought of it makes me gag) but I'm willing to give it a try.
LONDONER, OMFG, that's horrid! Frankly, I'm a bit of a wuss and don't deal with these things well at all. Fortunately, I've not had to with any frequency. Just hearing about your ordeal freaks me out! Speaking of morphine, they didn't give me a large dose -- for one thing, I told them I wanted to be cogent. My experience was it didn't reduce the pain it just made me not give a fuck! LOL!!

The pain medication I'm on now, Hydrocodone / Acetaminophen, DOES seem to address the pain directly, at least most of the time. At the moment I'm 'sore' in that area but I wouldn't call it pain. I noticed last night that the pain would increase at times and then subside. I was awake intermittently but I got about 6.5 hours of sleep. Including the hospital, I've taken 3 full doses. Just a few minutes ago I took a half dose. If the pain flares up again, I'll take the other half.

I couldn't get the Flomax last night. Have to go back to the drugstore this morning for that. It opens in a half hour or so.

Anyway, thanks for the good wishes, guys! I'll live... just out of the ordinary for me.

Sorry to hear of your troubles and glad you're ok. And please forgive me for the cruelty of what I'm about to say, but...this too shall pass

Hope you feel better soon, sounds rough. Olive oil and lemon juice doesn't sound that bad to me... I saute food in that combo pretty often.

Mike, sorry to hear of your ordeal. A friend of mine had a diagnosed kidney stone and quickly resolved it with the lemon juice & olive oil treatment.

This too shall pass!

Yeah, but could you mix 2oz of each together and chug it? LOL!

Glad to hear you're getting better, but a few of those salad dressings sound way better than staying on those meds fearing flare-ups and pissing through a tea-sieve for a couple of days.

Been there. Done that. A few times.

Morphine with Toradol is my cocktail. Or Demarol.

Hope it works its way through soon.

Well, I did give it a try but could not do it. One of my symptoms is not being able to keep food down. I haven't literally vomited but every time I try to eat something I get severe hic-cups. Even forcing water down is a chore. if I'd continued to force myself w the oil and juice I would have literally vomited... So... until something changes that's not an option.

At the moment I can feel it is getting closer to the bladder.
