What the hell is a Bamwars anyway????

I Googled "Bamwars", and translated some of the Asian text... it still made no sense to me. I think some of the text was some type of programming/machine code.

As [MENTION=18508]East[/MENTION] explains below, if you see it happening, just click the little yellow triangle at the bottom left of the post, the one with the "!" in it. That removes the thread from public view (placing it in a moderation cue). You will see a "warning" that you followed an invalid link. Disregard the warning. You then have to wait 60 seconds to do the same thing to another thread. East thinks that when this is repeated enough times against a specific user name, it freezes the user account so they can't post any more. ... If ANDY reads this, maybe he can let us now for sure.

Well... that system message that says you've followed an invalid link AFTER you clicked the "!" icon is kinda confusing.

First few times I did it, I didn't realize it was deleting the posts... I thought it meant the thing wasn't working.... or I would have been helping you all along.

I thought the same thing, so after reporting the first couple of that long list of threads, I gave up.

I had also done a search of bamwars and almost all of the results were from forum sites that had received the same type of spamming. I guess there are many forums that do not moderate because the threads were not removed from those sites.

The name of the site is "밤의전쟁" (War of the night)... I think it is trying to advertise a Korean forum. I don't know Korean so I don't understand what it writes on the website but I swear that I have seen some nude pictures.
It's a porn site, perharps.

I'd be very cautious of actually going to the site.

I think they get auto-blocked after a certain amounts of Infractions. Do you remember that really bad troll infestation that caused Andy to change the posting links rules? XRIMO and I spent a whole evening combating trolls, there were a few working in tandem but we destroyed them eventually! :biggrin:
