I went to a New Year's Eve concert in another city. The place was packed, and I ended up right next to the speakers, with no protection. It messed up my hearing severely for two days, and it took a full week for my hearing to get anywhere back to normal. Even now, I've shaved a bit off of my hearing due to that night. Now I won't ever go to a concert without my earplugs.
