Wish me luck guys

After years of being a state licensed pet dealer and animal rescue I start a new job today. I'll be working at a no kill humane society. These are few and far between. Kind of like usShakin

Congrats....I don't envy your job at either place.... but I am glad you and others do it.

I really wish I could just get the nerve up to go into the rescue or pound. It is something that has bothered me for many many years and will most likely be that way until I leave the planet...

It kills me when I see any animal that has been abused or neglected...or with the ones in the shelter...if they are sad or scared...I will never get their eyes or the "moment" I had with them out of my mind. I will never appreciate the one I adopted fully because I won't be able to forget the ones I didn't take. I wish it was something I could overcome...but I don't think it is possible.

I don't know how anyone can do it....but the no kill ones are at least easier... to know they won't be put down......

I do wish you the very best of luck. What exactly does your job entail?

That's great! I have a friend who works at a no-kill cat shelter in the Boston area and it sounds like an amazing place! It must be great to know that the work you do really makes a difference!

I know exactly how you feel. I have rescued and helped so many but there are so many that still need it. I'm just glad to be doing some good that helps. I'm also glad to see I'm not the only man out there with a heart. There are a lot of women that say they help but I've found most are just out for money. Some rescues are legitimate rescues but vultures.

It entails all of the care for the dogs as well as seeing after the kennel attendants to make sure they are doing the job properly. Thanks for the good luck.

I was thinking about volunteering at a no-kill shelter near here. They need someone to pet the unwanted pussies.

That's not a joke Smile
