So....Here is my list of who I would like in 2016...and analysis......

My personal favorite...

RUFUS w/CHAKA KHAN ...They were nominated once already and they have that elusive thing goin' on...and the cool factor....I expect them to make it sooner than later (wishful thinking on my part LOL)

DEEP PURPLE...always on my list MAJOR SNUB...they have been nominated twice which is a great song..BUT..Chic has been nominated NINE TIMES!!! (and I have no idea why)

CAROLE KING...she writes...produces..and had one of the most successful albums of all time. She entered the world of music as a singer/songwriter at the same time with Joni Mitchell and Carly Simon....she is musical genius and I am sure she will get a spot someday though she is already in as a songwriter as part of a duo

JETHRO TULL...I am shocked that they have never even received a nomination..and it has been over 20 years...I don't get it....they are always on my list...

WAR...probably the most likely inductee on my list..three times nominated and expected to be inducted each time...their stuff sounds fresh today...and they definitely were a game changer which is one of the criteria

MOODY BLUES.....another shocker...25 years and no nomination.....They were innovative and did alot of stuff no one else did...they definitely deserve a spot

NINA SIMONE...She has never been nominated...but she will get a spot because of her legendary cult status...with little fanfare. she will be a shoo in when they finally notice her

THE CURE...only one nomination but they love these kinds of bands...and they will get a spot with little fanfare as well

BON JOVI...nother one nomination band BUT they have a spot when they get the next one IMO.....strong social conscience from Jon kinda solidifies it....

SMASHING PUMPKINS...one from the freshman class often makes it on the first try and they are most likely IMO

My predictions for 2016....I don't necessarily like all of them....

Deep Purple (finally)...Nine Inch Nails...Smashing Pumpkins...Eurythmics...Janet Jackson...Sting....Rufus w/Chaka Khan...Kraftwerk......MAYBE WAR...and hopefully NOT Chic or Whitney Houston (BARF)

I have been working on this for so many years...I spend alot of time dropping her name around the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame sites....and now it is even better than I thought.

CHAKA KHAN got her first nomination as a solo artist....she was previously nominated with Rufus...I am stunned....

DAMN! I was just hoping she would get in with Rufus....

Of course..this is just part one..but a serious part one because once you get the nomination it is a good indication that a win is on the horizon...

We shall consider factors such as an artist's musical influence on other artists, length and depth of career and the body of work, innovation and superiority in style and technique, but musical excellence shall be the essential qualification of induction.

.....The final vote is done by a panel of 700 notables in the industry by ballot...typically 5-7 inductees...and the top five fan votes get one ballot vote each that goes into the ballot box with the other 700. I am going to have to get busy....
