The annual Fair where I live

This week some friends of mine invited me to go with to "El Real" (pronounced re-al), the large area on the outskirts of the city where the Fair proper takes place.

It is area divided in to broad streets lined with "casetas", temporary buildings where there are bar and restaurants each one of which has a sound system that blasts out absolutely deaf making music.

The idea of the streets is that they act as a "parade" where horses, horse and mule drawn carriagies ride up and down, a time to socialise and to see and be seen.

Carriages and horse riders all have to have special permission and those taking part have to be appropriately dressed in traditional costume. You cannot just ride dressed in a Tshirt and jeans.

The ladies are not to be left out and many come dressed in their finery.

Wow...your fair looks kinda cool....

The fairs we have here..not so cool....

The Police are present in our Fairs but not quite like yours.
