This saddens me.

I drove a VW bug for 17 years.
The scandal feels like a family shame.

wouldn't be surprised if many many more car manufacturers get caught out by this scandal - im sure they must test each competitors cars without admitting to it to see what tech they have and how they get emissions so low - then they find the secret software and help themselves - or they simply share the information through back channels...that wouldn't shock me either

I'm really surprised that VW thought they could get away with this. About the actual crime, nothing shocks me anymore about the race for profits and shareholder value.

It is probably a great time to buy shares in VW.

So a company lied and evaded the law to get profit?

Nothing new here. Maybe I'm just desensitized to these things.
