Insertnamehere Wrote:Ok then, I managed to finally, after a month's worth of attempts, to synthesize L-Glutamyl-Proline and L-Aspartyl-Proline 2,5-diketopiperazines.

Twas exceedingly nice to see correct the signal on the mass spectra, so I gave myself a pat on the back.

Congratulations, that's an achievement worth a pat on the back.

Last Sunday night I went with a friend went to see "La Soiree" (http://www.la-soiree.com/) which was in the "spiegeltent" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiegeltent) on the South Bank Centre. When I booked I had no idea what it was about but booked it because it sounded interesting and had won some Olivier awards. As it turned out it was a little bit like "Cirque du Soleil" on a much smaller scale. We were very lucky as we managed to get the very best ringside seats in the tent. Seats were not reserved and it was first come first served. The stage was quite small and round and the performers definitely played more to the side where we were sitting.

The show comprised various different acts; acrobats, jugglers, singers, magicians, contortionists, trapeze artists etc. It was more or less adults only since there was some quite strong language but it was all extremely entertaining and at times quite rude. In the link that I have given you for the act, you can see two men doing a balancing act. When they came on they were dressed in business suits so initially you didn't know what they were going to do. They seemed to be in their mid 40s and they went on to do some impressive acrobatics and balancing work. Dressed in suits you wouldn't think that they had the strength to do what they did but at one point they stripped down to Union Jack boxers and you can see that both were very buffed. They were both very versatile since one of them came on alone later and did the most extraordinary act with soap bubbles. The other one also came on alone later and did some equally extraordinary acrobatics using a vertical pole. You couldn't call it pole dancing since it was so much more.

One performer, a juggler and very gay, did Freddy Mercury impersonations and got the audience to stand up and join in singing "We are the champions". At the end he came on stage and made a sort of comic speech saying something like: “There are some people who still believe that being gay is perverse and wrong. No, it’s in our genes. Why can’t we inherit genes from our parents? Why can’t I inherit my mother’s insatiable appetite for cock?!” You can see that London is a truly liberal society for now.

There was an Australian comic who did a very funny and very rude act pretending to read from a Mills & Boon novel more popularly known as "bodice rippers". The typical cover of a Mills & Boon book usually features a bare chested hunk leaning over a swooning woman. Well, the comic read his own version that almost verged on the pornographic but not quite, in other words he didn't stint on the language and the gestures. He had the audience in absolute fits. All in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Definitely left the tent feeling good. If anyone is in London I would thoroughly recommend this. It's on until January.

lol Awesome, sounds like an amazing experience. Smile I did my first bass cover today, and I included a link. ^^ I apologize, I know I need a shave but it was spur of the moment. My cam also has a built in wide angle lens so some stuff might be distorted as well. Hope I did okay, but still really nervous. lol
