poppers

strider65 Wrote:cuddly I will take one small point of disagreement with you...

I do believe that people should sometimes take drugs. if one has a headache, one might take an aspirin, acetaminophin, or naproxin

if one were dying of a flu or virus or an infection, I might say that antibiotics might be in order, on the instruction and advice of a doctor.

so I would argue that there are times when one should take drugs.

I'm not entirely sure but I think what Cuddly was saying was that illegal/"street" drugs should be avoided. Necessary and/or beneficial medical drugs are fine.

I didn't mean to imply you were saying to not take any drugs.

I myself I guess just have a sensitivity to that charged rhetoric.

I've had far more bad experiences with people abusing alcohol, which lest we forget is also a drug, than I have to people smoking a joint at the end of the day. but alcohol is not "drugs"

meant no disrespect.

and who's to decide what is legal and what is not? that is a very heated discussion these days

again, I didn't mean to be disingenuous. I knew what the gentleman meant.

was just pointing out that 'drugs' is a highly charged word that has been used by the Right. I've known people who went batshit crazy on prescriptions that were perfectly and properly prescribed by their doctors. in particular, a good friend of mine who did not understand that it's probably not a good idea to take a bunch of Hydrocodones (Lortabs) and down them with a fifth of vodka...

she didn't wake up. I'm far more worried about shit like that than I am about someone smoking a joint...

peace people

I meant drugs commonly associated with abuse. Weed, cocaine, speed, xtc, etc.
I don't put alcohol in the same box, because alcohol is different. I don't think it's healthy to get hammered every weekend, but drinking from time to time is harmless.

Alcohol abuse is a real problem though, especially here in Denmark. But that's another topic.

Obviously, take your meds. The point I was trying to make is that eventhough drugs designed to help mental disorders (such as depression) are researched thoroughly, the side effects are still problematic. These drugs generally have the same mechanism as previouslybmentioned euphoriadrugs, but with altered affinities to target primarily one protein. With that in mind, how crazy is it to take random drugs bought off the street just to have the biggest orgasm ever?
The brain cannot be prepared, if you fuck it up you're a veggie for the rest of your life.

Just look at Jim. The poppers clearly damaged him. Big Grin

Oh and poor obediance is obviously terrible. Maybe the doctor and pharmacist weren't clear enough. In my opinion the only way to combat this is education. Sorry about your friend.

Not saying poppers is dangerous, just that I feel no need to try it.

Don't ever try to mix poppers with things like Viagra, Cialis etc. That is dangerous and can provoke a heart attack

Hey!!! I still have two brain cells working perfectly fine........... The other brain cells may be questionable but I blame that on Crack. LSD, Speed, & poor circulation.

1. Poppers are not illegal. (Most Places) A little hard to find at times. They are not the original nitrates either. (If you are concerned look up the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet)f on the product. Most are only like 6-10% Nitrate. the rest what ever filler they have on hand, varnish ect....) If you read the bottle it will be sold as air freshener, video head cleaner is common.
2. Like someone mentioned if you are using Viagra or any other med for erectile dysfunction, they lower your blood pressure, as does the chemicals they use in poppers. This can be life threatening. Peter Sellers had a heart attach from using poppers.
3. Heavy use of poppers will deplete the oxygen in your system you will start to take on a blue coloring a lot like someone having a heart attach.
4. Poppers also work as a muscle relaxer.
5. Popper can lower your inhibitions and some people will throw caution to the wind and take risks they wouldn't normally take. (not good)
6. They say they are not habit forming, but, I have seen signs to indicate otherwise.
7. Some will deflate your pecker big time, it all depends on what they use in them.
8. Some will definitely give you an instant head ache.
To be safe it is best to go slowly if you are going to experiment with them.
