Some of my macro photography

Here's another reason not to laden yourself with expensive camera equipment:

LONDONER Tell me how did I make a generalization to the gayspeak members when I referred the word "defiant" to http://www.deviantart.com? A world-away-website? And what caused you to be suddenly hostile to me anyway? As far I'm concerned, I've never even connected with you in the first place. Are you protecting someone from me?
you can post all your photos here on gayspeak. better than deviant - art of course, people here are more appreciative than posting your art on a website full of deviants.

Where in your first post did you mention the word "defiant"? All that I can see is the word "deviant".

LONDONER Those are very good photos. I will agree that expensive lenses/camera doesn't mean you can take good photos. But I do think in some instances you can certainly take advantage.

Very interesting that the memory card survived two years under water, then again had it been salt water I don't think that would have been the case. But point taken...I do live near a lake but no one I know has a boat...anymore. Not to mention some jerk could steal it... It isn't a high end camera, I use a Nikon D3200, my friends who make more money sport the D5500 and so on. But I am happy with what I have, I'm not going to spend another $600-700 on a camera I don't get to enjoy as much as I want. I like to go hiking with friends and take pictures and whatnot. For being a loner, I suck as being alone lol

Yes, to some extent I agree with you but I still maintain that ultra expewnsive equipment (unless you are a professional making a living from photography) isn't 100% necessary. Take a look at these:

http://digital-photography-school.com/10...and-genre/

Somewhere I read: Owning a Canon or a Nikon doesn't make you a photographer, it makes you a Canon/Nikon owner.

To some extent I'm a loner also. Trying to compose a shot when you have someone else tagging along is a pain since you always feel rushed.

Well there's no doubt you can take good pictures without a SLR camera...now film on the other hand adds more element of surprise, even more so if you decide to develop the film yourself.

Here's an example of a "super" macro. No I don't own a macro lens, but I used extension tubes to produce a similar effect and talk about blowing stuff up...now this was cropped a bit to make it even larger. Used this in my presentation on Hard Disks...

[Image: picture.php?albumid=1176&pictureid=7806]

edit: the photo is from a 500 GB notebook drive...the head, surprisingly didn't lose it, but smaller than a flake of black pepper...

I admire anyone who follows their artistic dreams. You are an artist, genuinely.
