I don't deem "settlements" to be the same as proper cities, and we have pretty good ideas about what an Ancient city was. The settlements became cities starting with Roman rule. Maybe we can take Paris out, as that seems more than a settlement, we can equate it with a Roman military camp.

'what the hell' can be said with annoyance. it can be said with hate. it can be said with confusion. it can be said carefully with all the tact and diplomacy in the world. and there are numerous other ways besides. it is impossible for you to determine just what type of tone was in my 'voice' (body) when i typed that.

i am not a tactful person. i think with all my history on this forum that is something blatantly obvious to everyone. if i haven't changed by now, no words will hardly ever change me. i am who i am. you'll have to take it or leave it because there is no other way for me to exist.

1.- Alkali Earths are metallic in nature, form insoluble sulfates (except Barium), have a final electron layer configured ns2, they tend to lose these 2 electrons to give the (+2) cation, etc. x
