It may be used afer the event as a power plant. That would justify a lot of he cost. And with all of the other stuff it does it could be a tourist draw.

Wow, it's beautiful! It's evident that with each new Games the host country/city tries to exceed the glamour of the previous host.

But honestly, I don't think any open ceremony can come close to Beijing's...that one was just absolutely breath-taking, stunning, amazing, blah blah blah. Wink

Why is it that one picture shows it as a wall, and another pic shows it as a "cube", with people standing on a platform?

Im very happy for Brazil to host the games..but !!!! they should asses a countrys ability to afford it first before handing it to them - at the moment there is an epidemic of mosquitos that are breeding in the vast slums of Brazil causing birth defects - If your country has the larger percentage of its population living in favelas/slums then maybe you shouldn't be spending all that money on sports
