I need some advice. I got a tooth filled on Monday and ever since I have had a bad toothache. I read online that a filling can cause toothaches sometimes and that it generally goes away after a few weeks. Has anyone else had this problem? Should I call my dentist and go back or wait it out and see if it goes away?

Your Dentist may have drilled to far down and exposed the nerve. Go see the Dentist.

Meebs: Yes, call the dentist. The pain is a signal that something is not right.
It now being the weekend, call anyway. The dentist probably has an answering service and can at least call in some pain medication to get you through until the first of the week when you can set up an appointment.

I never experienced pain in any filling I had.
You should search around for other dentists too J and ask for a check up

I wouldn't wait just on the off chance you could get an infection - give the dentist a ring and I presume they should have you back in to check it out...there shouldn't be a charge either as its still part of your treatment if they haven't done it correctly
