I'd hate to be the one scraping off all that rust and presumably, lead based paint.

I, too, am wondering why it's been kept sat in water all these years considering it's significant history. That restoration project is huge! The pictures are quite eerie and atmospheric, enjoyed seeing them.

And has anyone seen the douche in the comments section? Complaining it's not guarded well enough as he got in and caused some damage. Probably a troll, but if not, what a colossal idiot.

Those are fun details to include.

I found the photos to be both beautiful and creepy. And the article made a good point, that if it were a building or another type of structure it would be landmarked or in a museum. I wasn't aware that there wasn't some type of protection for ships. When you think about everything it takes to build a ship on that scale and to power it across oceans, they really are impressive and fascinating things.

It's been a while, but I seem to remember that there is a ship graveyard outside of philly. I know there's one on Staten Island too.
