Interesting. I guess I'm used to thinking about vernacular within a country in terms of socio-economic shifts (which is the case here) rather than ethnic ones. Murican, as far as I'm concerned, can range from offensive to a term of endearment depending on the context, self-applied or received from an outside source, similar to gringo which we use to refer to you peeps from time to time.

For any future references, should I ever find myself in the mood to be offensive towards US folks, "Murican" is not the word I will be using. That doesn't stop the recipient in taking offense, though.
