@confuzzled, Florida does not determine the winner, it simply throws a relatively large number of electoral votes in one direction or the other. Seeing the voting as a wave, of sorts, that moves from east to west, the outcome in Florida tips the scales and then the more western states must add to the tally in a relatively larger number of states to tip the result back the other way. If any reporting of eastern results shows a trend it may influence the western states. Such reporting need not be official results but could even be press-conducted exit polls. In this election, who knows... My suspicion is that the best armchair quarterbacking will be after Wednesday morning arrives.

One of the things that makes presidential elections so interesting is that polls and opinion pages are so easily different that the mind of the electorate. It is all an amazingly mystical process.
