beer is a good bet. Egyptians were brewing it in the time for the Pharaohs .

Personally, I don't buy corned beef in a can. if I want corned beef I buy a beef brisket, and then soak it in a brine overnight and bake it. I typically eat it eaither as a main dish or sandwich meat. It's great though it's tender and delicious. The other great thing about it is that you can make it in a Crock Pot, and I LOVE crock Pots they are a single man's best friend. Basically, anything you could eat roast beef with you can eat corned beef with.
