no deaths due to what you call an overdose but
it has been proven that smoking contributes to mental health issues
people who smoke are more likley to die smoking related illnesses
it is your choice but be informed

What we need is a return to Victorian values! In Victorian England all drugs were legal and the queen herself was the biggest junkie of the lot! I used to smoke pot but don’t now. I liked it and still could have a spliff occasionally but I don’t like smoking cigarettes any more and the spliff was my preferred way of getting stoned. I used to grow the stuff in the house and once left the plants in the bedroom while away on holiday. I got high just lying in bed without even smoking when I came back. I agree that alcohol is far more harmful, as the statistics prove.

would love to see the data on how smoking pot contributes to mental health issues...

You may be referring to some study published in The Lancet. It was used by the media and politicians. Unfortunately the whole study was not reported on when the researchers admitted
Quote:“Projected trends for schizophrenia incidence have not paralleled trends in cannabis use over time.”

A new study soon to be published
Quote:in a forthcoming edition of the scientific journal Schizophrenia Research, they compare long-term trends in marijuana use and incidences of schizophrenia and/or psychoses in the United Kingdom.

Quote:“[T]he expected rise in diagnoses of schizophrenia and psychoses did not occur over a 10 year period. This study does not therefore support the specific causal link between cannabis use and incidence of psychotic disorders. … This concurs with other reports indicating that increases in population cannabis use have not been followed by increases in psychotic incidence.”

And the part about smoking it... who says you have to smoke pot? Seems that God (or who ever created all good) meant for it to be used as in any plant. NO? Poke2

I've smoked pot maybe 3 times in my life. I don't really feel anything from it, nothing compared to alcohol. I just get really hungry after it, and crave weird foods.

I've only tried it once, and never plan to again (really didn't enjoy it, apparently being high brings back my childhood phobia of trees) BUT I have no problem with people who do and fully support the legalization. Just as long as people don't drive while high I'm cool with it.

Never tried it myself but the prohibition on it seems like the sort of thing that ultimately does way more harm than good and is all in all a really nice thing for organized crime because the money people spend on it gets channelled to all the wrong people. It doesn't have the same scale as the American alcohol prohibition but as I recall that basically created organized crime because if people want it they will get it its just a question of who you're giving the power to control it.

If I make sense anyway.

In my opinion, the only thing bad with ganja is that it's illegal. It could get you in serious trouble, especially when you buy it from the dealer.

I don't know anyone who got caught by the police while smoking, but I know some people who got caught while buying it.

Besides that, I think ganja is the best plant on Earth.

In fact, did you know that ganja, or previously called as 'hemp', was the most profitable plant until it became illegal?

It was the best 'cash crop' during the old days, not only because people liked to get high, but because you can make paper with it as well. Smoke the leaves and make papers with the stem.

I forgot but there are lots of things you can make with hemp. And hemp grows very well in almost any climate. That's why you have ganja all over the world.

I can go on about how glorious ganja is, but I'll stop here. Those who know, they know... no need for long speech.

Lastly, I want to say,

"Ganja... It's not an addiction... It's a passion."
