I'm always cautious with ATM machines even though I use them about 5-6 times a year. My hand moves over the whole thing first to try and see if there is anything odd. A friend in London had her card skimmed before I used to do this.

Did you read the comments below, though? It appears it was some shoddy publicity act, just to state the name of the company he was working for. Indeed he didn't mention the fact that he would take it to the police or go inside the bank to warn them...
