Why fellatio?
#21

Actually -- obviously -- for oral sex, a medium-sized cock is better than a bigger, well-endowed one.

Actually, some guys and some gay guys don't like fellatio. ( East ?) And who says you have to deepthroat if you want to give another man pleasure? You don't have to gag on it. It would seem that the old joke about teeth getting uncomfortably involved in fellatio has gone out of style. I don't hear anything about it anymore, and that might be because we're getting so much more second hand experience of the practice through the medium of porn. There are videos that make a good case for fellatio, as there are some who make it seem unappealing and rough.

The appeal of fellatio, I would venture, is the fact that many of us have an oral fixation, something that harkens back to the need to suckle. It is primal. Some take to smoking cigarettes, some suck their thumbs, some need to have something in their mouths at all times. It's soothing for one thing. There is also something like getting to suck out the forces of life, whether it's milk from a breast or semen from a penis, there is something very similar in that act, something that probably reminds us adults of our passage through infancy.

We also all know the pleasure of a wet cock sliding down a wet warm passage. Our mouths can, in interesting ways, mimic the way a vagina would react (less the teeth) and our tongues are apt little organs that can make the experience really enjoyable for both the sucker and suckee (sorry JCasey for bringing in another female organ of choice).

But I have learnt from my listenings and readings and experience that fellatio would not be complete without the action of hands or other parts of our bodies. As users of the organ, I guess men know intrinsically what pleases a penis, and what makes it engorge. Admittedly, sometimes even an experienced blower might have difficulty arousing a tired flaccid cock. And also, as males, I guess we'd be a little more patient with getting that arousal from our partner, should it fail to rise to the occasion, because we'd know the inner workings of desire for a male. That's why, possibly, some say that males gives better head than females (although I'm not sure how true this is, nor wether it's been verified).

Deepthroating, I would probably equate with the ability to and sensation of ramming the whole organ in, which might heighten sensation especially along the shaft, but for those whose sensitivity rests mostly around the head, deep thrusts would not be the best of sensations, especially as you have that barrier of teeth to contend with. I don't know if this is hardwired into males, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were. We would normally be thrusting our penises as high up into a vagina as possible to ensure the depositing of seed in the best place. Since the whole process of sex is to produce sperm and an ejaculation and to get an orgasm as a reward on the way, it all has to do with excitement, itself a complex and interesting matter, one which Masters and Johnson were very interested in finding out about. (See the series Masters of Sex, or buy the books).

The brain, our most sexual of all organs, bridges the gap between excitement, libido, fantasy and the actual ejaculation, the expected outcome of male genital stimulation. Add all the sensorial elements to the brain's expectation to end the act in a boost of pleasure and you'll understand why fellatio is such a sexually charged act. Some may view it as just foreplay, but it needn't be. You get visual pleasure, the ability to feel the tactile and mouth watering sensation of erection and engorgement, the way the penis and genitals change throughout the act, the added element of smell but also taste and texture,, nothwithstanding the aural elements of sighing, gasps and moans, and you're in for a full experience.

Unsurprisingly, the sales of Fleshjacks is growing as they mimic some of the sensations of a blow job, but I would say they will never replace the real thing. For one thing, you never get teeth, and you don't get an active tongue, and you don't even get auto lubrication, nor the natural warmth of the real thing. Ok, ok, you don't get the complaints from a gagging mouth, nor the discomfort of personal interaction, but hey... you've got to like your fellow human being, all the more so if they are willing to indulge you.

Reasons to not like fellatio, as a giver might be cultural, mostly, or hygienic. Body odour and skin or shape or other body defects may be disheartening to the potential sucker. We need to remember also that we are taught from a very young age to hate our excrement and to reject it as unhealthy (which it mostly is - even though you can drink your own urine, expecially in a situation of lacking hydration), and the smells of those wastes are also naturally offputting. So gentlemen, if you want a good blow job, make sure your genitals are clean and your bodies are generally not too pheromonally* and sudorically* (sweatily) charged. Another dislike for suckers might be the presence of too much hair in the area, so it gets in the way, sometimes finds its way down our throats. Who likes to have hair on their tongue or in their throat? Some men like to keep their crotch's hirsuteness in check and therefore trim or shave their bush to counter that side effect. Another reason to dislike sucking cock is STIs, as it is possible to get a throat or mouth infection from diseases that are passed from sexual organs to mouth. There are some worrying figures out there showing that mouth and throat infections from STIs could be the origin of more and more cancers. Something to read up on.

* I made these words up from the Latin sudor = sweat, and from pheromones.

I have a hard time with the concept that sex with East has -ever- been boring.

There should also be a CHUCKLE button, for something that made us laugh. You made me chuckle, East, when I tried to consider your sex life as 'boring'. Not the word I would have used, honestly.

By the way, East, can you tell us why you dislike fellatio that much. I'm sure you must have given it a go? No? Never?

Agreed although some would seem to disagree. The appeal of fellatio is totally personal, you either like it or you don't, just as you might like or not being face fucked that is another form of fellatio but more enforced and at times a bit rougher.
