Dating Someone Who's from another country

I have been talking to someone who is from Vietnam, seems nice and very cute. Here's the problem, he's still learning English and I feel that might be a big barrier in a relationship along with cultural differences. At the same time I think there is always a possibility of things just growing, I would assume he would continue learning English and learning the culture and so on, but I want to be careful, for both of our us. He seems to be a happy go lucky kind of guy and I like that, but I am not familiar with Asian guys and so on. So looking for advice here, anyone have any success stories?
