How patronizing. Do you seriously think this is an argument to my opinion. You've offered very little before now but one liners that have been hardly linked to the thread subject.

Quote:Plus I was talking about genetics because someone else mentioned it and I was commenting on that.

When it comes to gender issues and those trying to be recognised as one rather then the other, other items like genetics will naturally come up. As I said before in my other post, people tend to think that sex and gender are intertwined into one. You're just openly denouncing a comment that you don't like.

Quote:I also was talking about hate crime towards anyone who is different.

Hate crimes or not, disabled people still face a different kind of prejudice then trans people do. This is a thread on trans people and lets keep it that way. As I said before, I welcome a thread on disability discrimination if you really wish to discuss that.

Quote:Maybe you have a problem with disabilities lol.

Lovely, you're making assumptions that I have problems with those who are disabled based on nothing that has been written or thought by myself ever. One of my best friends who is disabled I have known since I was a baby, he's been treated no different by myself because of his disability. Other then the struggles that I've seen him face I've treated him no different from anyone else, we laugh together, we cry together, we argue and disagree with each other like everyone else does. Nothing has been different in my eyes because of his disability.

Your attitude is disgusting to try and concoct a viewpoint that I have issues with those who have disabilities with absolutely no evidence to back this up.

If we're going to attempt to educate one another then please look up "Slander", especially as you have maliciously framed this to try and argue that this issue exists within myself.

Well I don't know much about the genetics and effects of what it has on biological gender, just as I don't know a lot about the issues one goes through to decide on wanting to change gender or why they are the way they are. All I can say is well I'm gay, I don't know what made me gay or why I like guys, so I can make the comparison to apples and oranges. What I don't understand is why someone can make the claim to say it is ok for you to be gay but it isn't ok to be transgender. I mean if you ask me that sounds like failed logic.

If you ask me we should live and love the way we want to. In the end it doesn't matter as we will all face the same demise. Well all have a limited amount of time in this life with the likelihood that it will be the only life anyone will get to live, at least that is how I see it. Not sure what everyone's thoughts are on religion. I mean there have been so many people who have died because they didn't fit someone else's mold of society.

Anyway, let's not have a quarrel about who knows more about genetics or gender. I think going into a discussion about genetics and gender in that fashion might be a bit inappropriate in this thread. I mean we can talk about it, but in another thread I think would be best.

Indeed nothing is black and white, the only thing that is black and white is whether you're alive or dead....

One of my roommates is F to M transgender. Before knowing him, I never gave much thought to how transgender people are treated and what they go through. But it truly sucks. We live in a large, allegedly sophisticated and diverse city, but sadly, assholes abound. We were headed into the men's room at a club, and some moron dissed me for bringing my "girlfriend" in with me.

Why do people care so much about how other people choose to live?

Gemini I don't know for sure but people have this false sense of duty to force their beliefs on other people and as someone stated in this thread people are scared of what they don't understand, it is like they're intimidated and people lash out, sometimes with violence. I frankly don't see how people operate that way,k but if I can relate to my intolerance to people who are intolerant I guess I could relate.

I really want to point the finger at religion as it is partly to blame but I think a lot of it is that most humans are just cruel. I mean I've seen quite a few blow ups, arguments and trolls here on this forums....realistically not really all that bad but even then there's a lot of people who really show their true colors while sitting behind a monitor...

Its cool, I'm done with artyboy who simply couldn't answer me in the end with anything more then "Maybe you have a problem with disabilities lol" with nothing prior to back that up after failing to find an argument. When debating points becomes slanderous comments towards yourself you know the person you're speaking with has nothing of value to offer.

Now back to the subject itself. We may be categorically sectioned under the acronyms of LGBT or LGBTQ if you prefer but there are vast differences between gay and trans people, which is why people may have an opinion of one and a different one of another. Because of this group acronym gay people are expected by the outside world to understand fully the feelings of trans people when in fact when we simply cannot because our sexuality is not the same as feeling like you're in the wrong body. You will never eradicate hate towards anyone from a minority group but making the subject more public will make a lot of people think twice before publicly displaying that hate as a lot of people fear the backlash that may ensue.
