I find cooking to be very intimidating. It seems like such a skillful, talented thing to be able to produce a good meal. I grew up having great food and the results I have had from my own cooking is less than stellar. Often it is just blah, even when I follow a recipe. I've been pleasantly surprised when something turns out tasty, however.
