knickerbuck Some people are heartless. I think it was mentioned that babies get thrown in the dumpster, shaken, beaten, murdered....
Life does not start at conception, it takes about two to three weeks for fertilization to occur, before that there isn't any argument, at least biologically.

Here's where I disagree and get pissed. What the fuck does Mary or John the Baptist have to do with conception? Religion should not and does not have anything to do with abortion. Right now we in the US have these religious nutcases who think their moral values, their world view is the only view and that they can pass laws enforcing their religious beliefs on the entire country. Sorry, that's not the way (it should) works here. That's why we have separation of church and state. You might believe in God and Jesus and all that is fine and dandy and think abortion is outright terrible. However, I think often religion is used as an excuse for ignorance and it shouldn't be. People read the bible and have some guy who's paid to tell you what it means. Frankly I don't think many people read the bible end to end, in fact I have had people tell me "oh, most of it you don't need to read but..." We want to interpret religious texts a certain way. My thinking, being from a 3rd person point of view, religion is a business. They preach this and that to keep you coming back.
You know what bothers me about religion. In one of the small towns I live near there is a hospital, next door is a church. The hospital is small, dated looking, understaffed, doesn't have the means to treat people with more serious problems...my grandfather passed away there. The church towers over the hospital, has a fancy digital sign with their messages on the display...I must say it is a marvel in the town and it is taller and bigger than anything there. My problem is we make that church being huge more of a priority than helping those who are sick, homeless....yes in a county of 10,000 we have a homeless shelter.
Anyway, that's how I feel about religion and it imposing their so-called moral values on the population when if you ask me isn't but a bunch of smoke and mirrors.
