About to try and make a forum signature, using smudge.
Like this one: http://shuuri-kun.deviantart.com/art/Tal...-529217433 Love the colors in this one and the style.
But I haven't used smudge for so damn long, and back when I did learn it, I sucked at it Tongue

Nuke-ing it.

But seriously, I've been reading a compilation on African history from the origin of humans until now. It's been looooooooooong, but I am up to 2005. Not much left

Emil, if it helps, I love this potentially non-politically correct side of you Smile

That's interesting. I don't know much African history. What something interesting you've learned?

And I don't really think of myself as a politically correct person. I try to be aware of others and their feelings, I think I'm polite, and I use inclusive language because of my jobs and certain aspects of my own life and values. But I'm also fine with calling people out and speaking my mind about things I feel strongly about. I'm just not trying to be super confrontational with people who don't even deserve my time.

And I'm currently waiting for the boat to spend a weekend of diy home improvement for my aunt.

Lying in a guy's spare bedroom and trying to relax enough to sleep.

At first I was miffed about being banished here but now I understand. I can hear him snoring through the wall, sounds like he's operating a buzzsaw in there.

The most interesting thing for me to read was how Africa in general enjoyed better times in the Middle Ages than it does today, by a lot. For instance the East coast had a network of Swahili-administered thriving port cities that traded inland commodities for manufactured goods from the Arabian peninsula, India and even China. Some of those still exist today, like Mombasa. Others like Dilwa are in ruins. Some like Mogadishu in Somalia are now civil war battle grounds. Back then, it seems, they were decently wealthy cities with interesting architecture.

I didn't know much about Africa either, to be honest. In school you stick to the Mediterranean, Carthage and Egypt, barely glimpse through the Arab conquest and then you never hear from Africa again (and never again after) until it was time for the pleasentries of colonization.
