Lets share our latest purchases.

I had to buy a new backpack today.
It's 8 liters bigger than the old one. 40 liters, new one.
Had so much clothes in the old one today, was packed to the rim Tongue

And I bought some new shoes that I'm going to use at that exercise class I go to twice a week.

I like shoes btw, I'd buy a lot if I could afford and had room to them xD

These

They're a PL-259 bulkhead connector, got them so I can run coax to the outside, also was given some LMR-400 coax...

oooooooo...I like....but looking at all the specs, technology hasn't really gone forward in the leaps and bounds as it used to. I mean they are similar specs to this PC I Built 6-7 years ago.

I remember CPU speeds going from MHz to GHz really quick, and then it seemed to stall at around 3.4GHz for a long time.

Yeah there is a bit more to factor in than just GHz Tongue but in truth intel has been stagnant, each generation has improved performance about 5% through optimizations.
Skylake is a bit of a joke really BUT, I decided to pull the trigger because Microsoft will not be supporting kabby lake and forward. I wanted to wait for amd Zen but microsoft made the decision for me Wink.
One thing skylake processors have going for them is the z170 chipset, I intend to get this

Its a big deal for me to stick to windows 7, I am boycotting Microsoft after that unless they start makeing things more choice friendly again and lay off the spyware/adware/forced updates and restarts.

In truth im coming from an overclocked i7 920 at 4.2 GHz, so almost anything is an upgrade haha.

I haven't used Microsoft products since 2006 and I am a bigger fan of AMD over Intel....but as far as Linux goes NVIDIA performs better than any other graphics.

Yeah unfortunately I NEED Microsoft windows 7 for a bit longer, until wine improves or steam makes their dream a reality and makes it realistic to run windows games on Linux Big Grin.

As a work enviroment/study/research etc etc etc Linux is awesome, for gameing... ehhhh not soo much Wink.
