One interesting fact about yourself?

axle2152 Wrote:I made an attempt to learn the dvorak keyboard layout. Went through the tedious task of making labels for the keys and everything... Long story short, I switched back lol. You really have to allow a lot of time to get used to it... going from 50-60 wpm to 10 gets frustrating lol.

I just printed out the layout and tape it up above my monitor (at home and work). And yeah, the first week was painfully slow. But by the end of the second week, I had pretty much stopped referring to the chart. And by the end of the fourth week, I had all of my speed back. I'm actually much faster now than I was before.

I drink hot tea plain, too, but I prefer peppermint...which isn't really tea.

I'll have to give it another try. I think the only problem I face really is having to remote into many different computer at work...and I think if I recall the keyboard layout isn't being transferred to the remote computer...although that could have changed or I might flat out be wrong on that.

I will say that at the rate I am going with this keyboard at work most of the keys won't have labels on them much longer as it is lol....

Something else unique about me...appears I'm the only one here who holds a amateur radio license lol

I actually owned a professional one for awhile...but they dropped the requirements to own one soon after I obtained it.

Yeah they have done that here, used to have to do morse code...

The bad thing is a lot of the CB operators can easily get a technician license, those are the guys you hear on the 2 meter repeaters all the time...

However, I need to get my general class to do more stuff on HF....which means I'll need another radio that can do more than 10 meters and another antenna and so on... One of these days...

I do find it to be an interesting hobby... Kind of neat to talk to people in different countries over the air. Never know when the band opening will be or where to.

You're lucky my barber told me I had six during my last haircut.
