It depends on how you mean possessive...if it means limiting someone's freedom intentionally like you will not have other gay friends or you will do XYZ...not my thing. Although expressing possession in terms of expressing that they're your lover and partner and not being afraid to make that claim, well that should be expected. To "own" the fact that you have a boyfriend. If that makes any sense lol Sometimes hard to express my feelings into words on some subjects...

@Syplh Just need to set those boundaries... Me, I try to be the opposite, I wouldn't want my partner, should I get one, to feel that I'm being possessive. I'm not going to tell someone what clothes they can or cannot wear, what friends they can have or what kind of work or what they do or what they spend money on (so long as we don't end up living in a van down by the river).

If it's a partnership (a real partnership) you don't have to dictate your partner his conduct, but you can be asked to give your opinion, and sometimes it's nice to tell someone they look better in one shirt than in another and to be the outside eye for them when they can't make a decision. That's what a boyfriend is also for. It is also nice to make financial decisions together while retaining a little personal money for freedom's sake.
