They do indeed look futuristic in nature. A lot of innovative designing going on there.

I do wonder sometimes why there are so many research stations being built down there recently. I'm sure there's lots of different types of technological research and development that can be done in such a unique environment, but Antarctica has attracted a few high profile visitors of late that makes me wonder if there are other, more clandestine activities going on that we are not aware of.

Who knows. Still a fascinating place and one of the last true wildernesses on the planet.

For the moment at least. With so much activiy by so many nations maybe it won't be long before it is no longer a wilderness.
