I think it will be a while yet before we have to worry about 'skynet' but AI is getting a lot better...so yeah at some point there may come a day when a computer and it's software would become "aware" in the sense that it could make its own decisions and have independent thought...then there might a problem... Then again, all this progress may have nature's cure in it...

I always thought there was a reason they keep pushing FPS games like Battlefield. Eventually warfare will just be a bunch of kids with xbox controllers.

I have to agree. Very uncertain times. It seemed so much easier before the AIDS crisis. Although those were also the years of Apartheid, of Russian dissention being sent to Siberia to rot, etc, etc ...
