Doc Wrote:1.) I didnt say you were trolling anyone, but lets wake the fuck up. Political threads on forum are more or less used to troll.

2.) The last administration mislead people and personally wronged me. When Obama publicly declared the withdraw of combat troops from Iraq in August 2010, it was a lie. We we still there and I saw as much action after the end of combat operations as before. We watched him say this on the news before we went on a combat patrol, the next day received a memo stating that our units name had been changed from the "2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team' to the "2nd Advise and Assist Brigade". If you dont believe me here is proof this is my actual platoon and troop. Please watch it http://www.cbsnews.com/news/bringing-the...from-iraq/
He lied and he is a liar. When you end combat operations you no longer receive the same amount of combat support in terms of man power and supplies. That mean fewer men with less supplies doing the same job, his lie cost lives.

3.) You are disappointed because I have an opinion different from yours? Tell you what before I have a thought I'll run it by you. Im not trying to come off as mean, but Im not going to back down to anyone.

a) When you read in the article about 50,000 troops its not as much as you think. Most of those troops are mechanics, drivers, intel, clerks, computer, medical, cooks, supply etc. and you only end up with like 3000 ish combat troops. 3000 is not alot for a whole country. Just in case you were wondering alot of people dont understand this. But dont take my word ask somebody like drobs he's around the military currently and can confirm this.

I'm not disappointed you have a different opinion than me. On the military, I really value your insight. I don't know much about the military and I know you do, so I trust and respect your authority and opinions on those topics. I will watch that. Obama did a lot of stuff I didn't agree with either. He did some things that strongly went against what I believe in, he did things that concerned me. Like I said, I'm not a democrat, I'm not one of those people who worship the ground Obama walks on.

I'm disappointed by the tone of what you wrote in the chat box though. Its dismissive, its painting the left with a very broad, they're all hysterical stroke. And then to come in here and be so dismissive of the liberal opinions here too. It doesn't, or it shouldn't, have to take concentration camps for people to be able to be legitimately concerned. By the time a country is running internment camps, participating in wide scale genocide or whatever, it's already too late. By the time we are able to recognize and comprehend what has happened, it's already happened.

I'm not saying Trump is Hitler. I don't think Trump is Hitler. I don't think the American people will allow Trump to become anything like Hitler even if Trump wanted to be Hitler. Weimar Germany is one of my favorite eras of history to learn about, and I think it's silly to compare that time in Germany to the USA now. We are far from that, we are far from the conditions that allowed a leader like Hitler to come to power. We are a much stronger democracy with much stronger institutions than Weimar Germany. But- let's not that for granted or assume that we are so different from the rest of the world that bad things and bad leaders could never lead us down a bad path. Hitler isn't the only leader that ever had authoritarian tendencies after all. And maybe if more people had taken seriously the concerns some had about Hitler back then, because he did a lot of concerning things before he was running a full scale genocide, we wouldn't even be talking about Hitler now.

I don't think he should go unchallenged. By the press, by the courts, by the people. I don't think it's a good sign he has tried to delegitimizejudges or any press that is critical of him. I also don't think Trump is batshit crazy, so I don't think he's going to make an enemy of the military in his first month in office. In fact it's not surprising to me that he'd want to do whatever he could to have the military on and at his side. The military is a very important part of this country.

I understand you view him through the lense of the military because that is a big part of your identity. I view him through the lenses that make up my identity, which is very different from yours. But I would warn against allowing the things that directly relate to each of us to be the only thing we consider when making up our minds about our leaders. I mean, to talk about Hitler, if we were just typical ethnic Germans, Hitler did great things for them. But he's not really remembered for all the good he did them. That's kind of overshadowed by the bad he to others.

Anyway man, I'm not asking you to do anything I'm not asking myself to do. To ask questions, to think outside of my own perspective, to consider the experiences and opinions of other, to extend empathy and respect to a certain point. I'm not asking you to back down or to change your mind or fall in line like a mindless drone. I don't want that. You don't need my permission to have an opinion. I don't get why people on this forum seem to think I'm always trying to control how you all think...

But I agree, ultimately our minds are our own to make, our opinions are our own to form. You're as entitled to yours as I am to mine. But specifically on this forum, there isn't really a troll problem. This place is more or less relaxed and friendly. Hot topics get people heated, and people outside the USA are going to be concerned and paying attention to and having opinions on what's happening in our country. We have a lot of influence on what goes down around the world. Doesn't mean those opinions are any less valid.

And look at you, now that you're getting ass all of a sudden you're going to come at the people who aren't? Lol...

Hmm...brow eye or roll... I want a roll... with some butter...you know that stuff you get that is creamy...Oh or honey butter...I don't know but a dinner roll sounds nice right about now.

Oh you know that song "gonna make my brown eyes blue" Wasn't that Tina Turner...

Anyway, yeah back to the topic at hand...

I guess one way to settle all this is it stick one finger up a republican's butt and the other up a democrats butt (just don't get kicked, they're known to be an ass) and see who's stink hole is worse...

I'm being totally sarcastic.

The thing is we ALL are not given the same information the same way thus we are not discussing our own real viewpoints on whatever the fuck this thread was about. Let that soak in... Isn't that interesting we are all aren't tuning into Glenn Beck or Bill Mahr?

I find it like the kid in the school yard who starts a big fight between a bunch of kids, and while they're fighting he's stealing all their lunches.

Im tired of the BS, so I might as well sling a little back

Our democracy is a fucking joke, anybody and everybody gets to vote with no real qualifiers except turning 18 years old. I think that right should be earned not given. Do you not have eyes to see the subhuman trash that get the right to vote, its scary.

And I didnt mean you, I know that your celibacy is a matter of choice right now, you know your handsome Ive told you that much before.

Fuck our democracy - the real issue is that you think I'm celibate? Lol. I'm not into relationships and don't want a boyfriend, that doesn't mean I'm celibate. Seriously, I'm a 25 year old gay man from NY... Not that I'm saying I'm a slut or anything, but I've got the motive and the opportunity.

I just don't come here to talk about it every time I have sex, unlike some of you guys...

My cats name is Meow Meow, he named himself. And he's my companion, my friend, and in another life maybe he was my lover. Just not in this one.

Politicians are politicians. What disturbs me in this current phenomenon is the sheer nastiness. Racist, sexist, xenophobic , transphobic and homophobic speech, based largely on unwarranted fear has been legitimized by the people at the top. And the people who are fighting to protect YOUR water, YOUR schools, YOUR health care, YOUR retirement savings, YOUR air, YOUR reproductive rights are being called "Snowflakes" and "Terrorists" and everything else, with bullshit about them being paid to protest. Yes someone bankrolled paying 1.5 million people to take the day off work and go stand outside in the cold. And people BUY it.

And how is it that the same people that label any attempt to level the social and economic playing field as "socialism" have no problem with their commander in chief cozying up to the PM of Russia, and are unconcerned with the possibility that he's beholden to the KGB?

That's a big part of disturbs me. It's not just what this administration is directly doing / saying. It's what their tone is legitimizing, giving a platform to, and making acceptable. A great America is not one where racists should feel comfortable expressing their views openly. I can tolerate a lot of shit, but only to a point. Not all opinions should be given equal platform.
